Our Young Adult Development Team’s calendar is filling up, as it serves schools on both sides of the Ohio River. Young Adult Development Director Keisha Hopkins will be joined by Educator Derek Waddell for the four-day long Positive Potential program. This dynamic duo plans to serve schools in Ballard, Livingston, McCracken counties in Kentucky and Johnson County, Illinois… and hopefully beyond!
Positive Potential is a state-supported curriculum allowing sixth through ninth graders to practice critical skills like decision-making, goal-setting, and the power of choice. These students also explore healthy and unhealthy relationships and their consequences. Keisha and Derek bring the info and the fun, with games, prizes and giveaways!
Breaking news! The Community Foundation of Western Kentucky’s Fred Paxton Charity Challenge is doubling proceeds from our annual baby bottle campaign this year up to $10,000! Nearly 3,000 Illinois and Kentucky families took empty baby bottles to fill with change, cash or checks during our fundraiser between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Since Hope Unlimited Family Care Center doesn’t receive federal funds, what you give each year impacts how many moms and dads we can serve. This year, we’ve challenged you to raise $30 per bottle. The Charity Challenge match is open until August 31, so you still have time to see your dollars double.
Do you still have a baby bottle? That’s ok. Whether it’s empty or full, we ask you drop it off at your church or by one of our centers. You will help us be good stewards by returning all bottles. Thank you for giving a little to help a lot!
The medical care I have received at the [prenatal care] clinic has been amazing! I have loved getting a chance to get to know Steph [the sonographer] and Debbie [the nurse manager], and that they have gotten to know us, as well!” – Nikki Brinkley and Justin Scott, Paducah parents
I have always felt welcome and loved here. I highly recommend [Hope Unlimited Family Care Center] to any family. You will find help, acceptance and experience tremendous growth in your life. Thank you, Hope, for all you do.” – Bethany McLane, Metropolis parent
Love Amazing in 2017!
You partnered with us to reach at least 168 new moms and dads this year. Thank you! In January alone, we served 15 new moms and dads along with our regular clients. Parents made 200 appointments; 154 of them showed up. That is 77% of appointments kept! This tells me clients are finding value and support. I want you to know your investment of prayer, finances and support is making an impact.
Ephesians 3:20-21 says, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus througout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Emphasis added.)
Our greatest need? Prayer! We are open four days a week in Paducah and three in Metropolis. Will you be one of those who partners with us and says, “Yes! I will pray on a certain day at a certain time.” If so, please let us know. We are being intentional in having every hour covered in prayer.
Hope Unlimited Family Care Center is you, our team and the community. Love Amazing is what we have to give. Please help us spread the word to those in your circle of influence. Know there is a place where moms and dads can find the support and resources they need. Together, we impact one family today and generations for years to come.
Your generosity certainly has created a bright new year! At the end of 2016, we set a goal to raise $62,000 to help 168 new parents. By the time we opened our center in January, you had already surpassed that amount! Your gifts, online and by mail, totaled $62,086. Thank you!
Your dollars are already making a difference! The very first week we opened in January, several parents came into the building needing immediate help. One woman needed a pregnancy test. Two more families needed material help right away. Seven students participated in court-ordered parenting classes. Our clinic cared for three expectant parents.
We cannot wait to share the success these families will enjoy, as we continue our work together!
